Constantly-updated implementation of TeX and LaTeX, great for mathematics and formulae:
MiKTeX (pronounced mick-tech) is an up-to-date implementation of TeX/LaTeX and related programs for Windows (all current variants).
TeX is a typesetting system written by Donald Ervin Knuth who says that it is "intended for the creation of beautiful books - and especially for books that contain a lot of mathematics".
A complete set of additions (programs, styles, fonts, etc) are available to help you typeset your documents.
The TeX output viewer Yap allows for an optimized edit-compile-view cycle (if the TeX authoring system in use supports source specials).
MiKTeX can open DOC and DOCX files, open LaTeX documents and edit LaTeX documents.MiKTeX features and highlights:
MiKTeX is licensed as Freeware for Windows (32-bit and 64-bit) operating system / platform from office software without restrictions. MiKTeX 2.9.6236 is available to all software users as a free download (Freeware).
Compatibility with this software may vary, but will generally run fine under Microsoft Windows 10, 8, 8.1, 7, Vista and XP on either a 32-bit or 64-bit setup. A separate x64 version may be available from MiKTeX.
